This painting was inspired by a walk along Diamond Head Beach, observing the ebb and flow of the tide and the ever-changing, fascinating shapes and colors right at my feet. This day brought a very unusual experience. A huge 10 foot endangered Hawaiian monk seal decided to roll right up out of the surf onto the rocks by my feet and take a sun bath. What a surprise that was!
