On the North Shore of the island of Kauai you will find Hanalei Bay.
Safe harbor in the the summer months usually full of boats anchored off shore, and a go-to, big surf attraction site in the winter.
The bay stretches in a magnificent arc with a sandy beach that is great for walking anytime of the day or season.
It is idyllic and I have lost my back bone there multiple times. Early morning sunrise is awesome, and watching the scene when the sun folds up for the day can be an hour of “ohs” and “ahs” as clouds dance across the sky and the sun slowly hides behind the mountain.
This painting was a result of one of those magical days when you just exclaim ‘Wow!’
