Pause and Reflect

I have painted at Makapu'u Beach on Oahu countless times.

On this particular morning the beautiful shade tree 

 and the "pause and reflect" benches along 

the walkway leading to the beach caught my eye.  

 Gladly, a new perspective on an old subject.

Midway through my painting session, a couple strolled by arm-in-arm and stopped.

Aha! The perfect focal point and the ideal reminder to stop looking at your feet 

 and take time to appreciate the beauty in life.

(This painting was done primarily using a palette knife with a little bit of brushwork.)
