Kailua Sweep

This is the view of Kailua Beach from the boat ramp below to Alala Point and on to Kaneohe Bay when approaching from Lanikai.

Kailua Beach Park encompasses 35 acres of land with 2.5 miles of the white sand crescent Kailua Beach.

Celebrated for its soft white sand, brilliant turquoise water and gentle surf, no wonder it is such a huge draw for beach activities.

Kailua is the contraction of the words, kai and ʻelua.  The two roughly translate to “two currents.” 

These are noting either the two lagoons in the district and/or the two currents that run through Kaneohe Bay.
